There is no better place for HR professional development than SHRM’s Annual Conference & Exposition, and this year it is in our own backyard!  For those that have attended a National Conference in the past, you know that you gain valuable tools and resources needed to implement successful HR practices. SHRM Certification - Spring Testing Window May 1 - July 15, 2018

Not one of the 2,408 SHRM Certified (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) individuals in Indiana yet? You can still apply for the SHRM Certification Exam. Applicants can pay a $75 late application fee for applications received between March 24 - April 13 for the May 1 – July 15, 2018 testing window.

iOS and Android Users Can Now Access the SHRM Certification App

With the certification app, available for iOS and Android devices, SHRM credential holders can search and filter recertification activities by competency, date or location; keep track of them; and enter the appropriate PDCs!  The app automatically uploads the PDCs you’ve obtained from National SHRM conferences, SHRM eLearning, and SHRM seminars etc. into your profile. The app will also notify you when you are ready to apply for SHRM Recertification!

The email address in your SHRM Recertification Portal must match the email address in your National SHRM Membership account for it to link up.

Deadline approaching for 2018 SHRM Certification (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) Scholarships

The Certification scholarships application window is open! In 2018, 220 certification scholarships will be delivered, with each scholarship winner receiving a $750 award. SHRM Foundation scholarships of $100 are also available for the SHRM Recertification fee.(Spring) Deadline to Apply: April 10

3rd Annual Barnes & Thornburg/Ken Yerkes Scholarships for HR Professionals

The HR Indiana Annual Conference announces the 3rd annual Barnes & Thornburg/Ken Yerkes Scholarships. These are needs-based scholarships that will be awarded by HR Indiana and Barnes & Thornburg. There are two scholarships that will be awarded.

Just a reminder, if you are SHRM Certified... Put SHRM “out front” in your email signature (or on resumes or LI Profiles, etc.) – example: Jennifer Lange, SHRM-CP, PHR (listing the SHRM Certification after your name and before others).

Monthly SHRM Recertification Live Chats

If you are a SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP credential-holder, join SHRM to ask the SHRM Recertification Counselors any questions you have about SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP recertification - regardless of where you are in your recertification cycle. Committee Volunteer Call Outs

WE NEED YOU! IndySHRM provides a lot of great programs throughout the year! But that takes a lot of work…this is where YOU come in! Volunteers are needed to help with planning, organizing and assisting with programs. Most committees require a commitment of only 1-3 hours per month

Programs Committee!

Key Responsibilities: You’ll get to work with Dr. Misty Resendez to coordinate our professional development activities including seminars, workshops and other events for the chapter membership. The committee provides a variety of programs that are pertinent to today’s HR issues.

Meeting Frequency: As needed, typically via conference call. Also, social and volunteer activities are available throughout the year.

Make 2018 be the year you get involved and make a difference!

IndySHRM Student Scholarship

In an effort to encourage and support students pursuing a career in human resource management field, IndySHRM offers one annual scholarship in the amount of $1,250.
